Dr. Richard L. Nash is a graduate of East Technical High School, Cleveland, Ohio. He served as Interim Pastor of the True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, Cleveland, Ohio and Pastor of the Greater New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Cleveland, Ohio for 12½ years. Pastor Nash arrived in the Hartford area in 1992 to lead God’s people into the future. He is presently the Pastor of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Hartford. Pastor Nash has been married to Mary E. Twyman for 42 years. They are the proud parents of 2 children and grandparents of 4 wonderful grandchildren.
Objective
It is my prayer that God gives me the strength and the potency to paint the picture of Christ so clearly, that trembling sinners need not fear; and the Saints of God thoroughly understand, that even though the hand that holds us is not seen; it still remains a hand that will increase us when we’re weary, and bid us to come and drink when we’re feeble and lacking intensity.
Time and experiential lessons have taught me that there ought to be in every pastor, an habitual looking above for the rewards of His work. The recompenses of a faithful pastor come from God, and are of a special magnitude and a special blessing. These rewards come only in part in this present life.
In conclusion, allow me to say this; the only thing heavenly that I wish for on this earth is to be able to preach the precious Gospel of Jesus Christ. I ask for no service; but to be in the service of my Lord and Master laboring for the souls of men that His will be done in earth as it is in heaven.
